Richika Makol, MD, MPH
Dr. Richika Makol has wanted to be a pediatrician since kindergarten and developed a passion for the intricacies of the immune system while completing her pediatrics residency at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. She completed her Allergy and Immunology fellowship training at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, a national and world-renowned leader in pediatric medicine and research. She enjoys the breadth and diversity of the conditions in this field, the focus on lifelong health, and the ability to care for children, adults, and families. Dr. Makol strives to provide holistic care and is committed to helping patients and families identify and understand their diagnoses while providing them with the tools they need to manage chronic conditions successfully.
Dr. Makol has a strong clinical interest in food allergy, particularly in infants, toddlers, and young children, with robust training in performing food challenges and providing food oral immunotherapy. She also enjoys the management of asthma, allergic rhinitis, and primary immunodeficiency in children and adults. Dr. Makol has a master's in public health and is passionate about addressing health disparities in the field of Allergy and Immunology to provide better health care for all patients.
Dr. Makol is a New England native and grew up in Connecticut. She first moved to California for residency training in Los Angeles and moved to the Bay Area after fellowship training. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
